how work Scottmeier Edelstalkrümmer fit with stock auspuff info???

Is GB 500 motor work better (torque, horsepower, felling) with

Scottmeier Edelstalkrümmer fit with stock auspuff.

(stainless pipes two in one for stock silencer) ?

How is the sound ?

Not too loud ?

With Albert S' stainless headers mounted with stock muffler and the lean carb setting on my Californian GB500, I found the sound not much louder, but with a higher, "ringing" note (more treble) like from a smaller engine. The engine maybe revved better above 5kRPM, but also vibrated more in that range, and it definitely had less torque in the 2½-3½ kRPM range. Mind you, Albert developed these headers for tuned and 650cc engines not specifically for the stock 500cc.

In any case, all those points improved when I fitted the original header. However, perception of sound is a very personal matter, and actually the good Armin in Hessen sowmewhere, who bought my Schottmeier headers, thought his GB500 got a better sound with a deeper note...

If only you could read german, you would find more opinions about this subject expressed in old messages in here.

Richard is a diplomat. Don't use it with a short stroke RFVC. This is what all the German discussons is about. With the 80mm stroke engines it might be working well.

Sorry is not right,Albert used 650cc engines and they have 82mm stroke....
my father use the "large tube" on a 500cc engin,but with TM40 carburetor and K&N aircleaner and it work very well....

the tube is not realy from Albert or Italy....sooner from XXX-Racing....but no matter.....

Alex is right about the stroke, but I am sure about the fact, that the header doesn't work with the 75mm stroke engine. We did some comparison and the engine just didn't rev as it did before. The dia of the pipes is too large.
The best exhaust seems to be the complete SUPERTRAPP, but it is no longer available. There is one slip-on by SUPERTRAPP to be used with the standard pre-silencer, but I rate it as urgly.

With one completely orginalen engin ???
